Well hate to put a negative post up but I just need to warn the average citizen that is considering the SmartHome's SwitchLinc products. I have these X10 modules in my house because I was looking for a 2-way controller.
Just recently I turned the power off on the house to install a breaker box in the barn and after I turned the power on, I found out that all of these devices are broken.
They respond to X10 signals just fine, but they do not report 2-way any more and they do not dim. It is this lack of dimming that is the biggest drawback.
Just so all are aware; I have a whole house surge protector and other 2-way modules from other companies in my house.
I spoke with the company and they are blaming a power surge after the power came on in the house.
It is true that the switches lasted for 3 years but that they should just fail after shutting the power down in the house tells me that these products are not that well designed.
I just thought that the world should know. Do not expect these units to work well long term or after a power outage.
PS...
This also applies to the 1182I which I have.
