Fox Cities police executives don’t care that sponsors of a bill to allow Wisconsin residents to carry concealed weapons claim support from two police groups. Recent amendments don’t make the proposal any more palatable, said Outagamie County Sheriff Brad Gehring, Appleton Police Chief Rick Myers and Neenah Police Chief Ray Appel.
“The officers working in what is called the safest community in the nation think this is a flawed bill,” Gehring said.
Police who do now want their citizens to protect themselves are flawed. Not one of these officers can assure their citizens of security from harm in an assault or attack, yet they do not want their citizens having the ability to gain their own security.
Voters in the Fox Cities need to get these criminals, like Rick Myers, out of public office.
