More details about 2nd change to PPA

It seems that the bill has changed from last night. The bill now makes it illegal to draw down on a person just because they have a concealed carry permit without probable cause.

That means more paperwork for the officer that does this and this will hit the bad ones where it hurts, more work. I do not worry about the good cops.

I do not have a problem disclosing my CCL to a police officer, but I still am not happy about having my property (car) disclose this.

Some daylight is better than none and I do hope the bill passes. I just now hope the Supreme Court beats the Legislature to it and we end up with something better.

Update:

Here is the "support" we got for this bill...

And David Collins, Superintendent of the Wisconsin State Patrol, released this statement in a news release Wednesday afternoon. "The minor change announced today to the concealed weapons bill amounts to window dressing on a very dangerous, unnecessary piece of legislation. Having more people carrying around loaded, hidden weapons under their coats during the holiday season will not make Wisconsin any safer. It could put the public at risk, and it will make the job of law enforcement more difficult and more dangerous."

Still do not think it was worth it.
